Understand how the typical learning process works

Have you ever learned something new, had a little bit of success but all of a sudden you came across a problem that discouraged you to continue and finally you gave up on it?

Let’s take surfing for example. Surfing can be fun but it is also hard to learn if you really want to become good at it. You might have caught a nice little wave in the beginning but eventually it became too frustrating because you fell off the board too many times.

The same is true when observing new sales people. They start out fully motivated and enthusiastic and maybe even close a deal right in the beginning. But eventually like everyone they get too much rejection and it appears like nothing works out anymore. During this phase most people simply give up and tell themselves that selling isn’t for them. The mental pressure and the constant disappointment are too much for them to handle. Their level of self-confidence falls to a new record low and they look like a dog that has been beaten with a stick.

Some people have a natural talent in certain areas but most people don’t. Lack of talent doesn’t mean that you can’t learn it. Lack of talent is no excuse for not getting what you want.

The problem is the lack of awareness when it comes to learning new things. Anything worth achieving is usually difficult. Otherwise everybody would be good at it. Things that are easy and have no obstacles have no value.

This is why there is the following rule each time you learn something new:

Learn (phase 1) – a little bit of success (phase 2) – failure (phase 3) – learn from failure (phase 4) – a lot of success (phase 5)

Most people give up in phase 3 – basically just before they will have a lot of success. If you initially wanted something and you are failing then don’t give up. Learn from your failure and stay positive because you are very close to succeeding. And what others have done before you, you can do as well.

The law of cause and effect

The law of cause and effect says that everything happens for a reason. If you want to be successful, you need to think thoughts of success first. You need to do the things first, before you can enjoy success.

The law of cause of effect is a law of nature or a so-called universal law. It is one of the things that you cannot change, avoid or ignore. It is also called the law of action and reaction. It states that everything that happens had a preceding action before it occurred.

Everything in our world is based on the laws of nature or universal laws.
Everything happens of a reason.

The world is still full of people who are not happy with their results but still do the same things and expect a different result. If you want something to change in your life, you need to do things differently than you did before.

Most people achieve far less than they are capable of achieving.

The law of cause and effect does not only apply to your actions alone. Every action is always preceded by a thought in your mind. In order to change things, you need to change your thoughts or your thinking. This is the initial cause for everything.
If you have positive and encouraging thoughts, it is much more likely that you will achieve a positive result.

The quality of your thoughts is key. Let me give you an example:

Have you ever been completely in love? Do you remember how much energy and power you had? Your thoughts were absolutely positive and you were full of energy. You didn’t get that kind of energy because you ate a special energy bar, right? Just the opposite is true: you probably forgot to eat, slept less but you still felt like you could move mountains.

All this was based on your thoughts and on how you emotionally felt about somebody. The quality of your thoughts and the feelings that this creates makes all the difference in your life.

On the other hand, negative thoughts will prevent you from being successful. Because of failure your self-confidence will go down and a series of failures will program our brain to stop striving for success. We will start to self-sabotage ourselves because we have received “proof” from the past, that we can’t do it.

If you read the news each morning or listen to the radio, you will realize that at least 80% of the news is negative. How do you think does this influence your mood, your view on the world, your level of fear and your outlook for the future?

Not considering that you could use the couple hours per day wasting on unimportant issues to improve yourself or learn something that will bring you closer to your goals.

Early on in my life I made the decision to stop watching the news and to turn off the radio when the news would start. And I encourage you to do the same.

The law of cause and effect is very real. It is like the law of gravity. Even though you can’t see it, doesn’t mean that it doesn’t exist.

Your outer world is a mirror of your inner world. You are who you are because of the thoughts that you have thought. Start thinking like other successful people in your area and you will get the same results. By changing your causes, therefore your thinking, you will change your results.
